Coaches & Managers

One of the essential functions of coaches and team managers is to manage team communications with players and their families.  If you are a coach or team manager, SportsEngine has created a Team Management Guide for Coaches and Team Managers to help you use our website and mobile app to efficiently and effectively communicate and manage your teams.

Coach Frequently Asked Questions

I am interested in being a Head Coach for a draft team.  How can I find out more information?

Simply register as a head coach, submit the background check, pick a team name, and indicate the number of players that you'd like from the draft.  If you have any questions, that are not answered in the FAQs, your point of contact will be the the VP of the age group you are coaching.  VP Contact Information can be found by visiting the Contacts page.

I am a coach, and I want to register my team to play in CFBBA.  How do I get started?

Anyone who is coaching or volunteering will need to complete the Coach/Volunteer Registration and Background Screening Registration. Both registrations can be found under the "Registrations" tab.

How do my players register for my team?

Players will find the register link under the "Registrations" tab.

What if I have a player, but they're registered for another team.  Can they also register for mine, even if in a different division, playing up?

No.  We cannot accommodate or support the scheduling associated with players playing on multiple teams.

We do accommodate coaches that coach multiple teams in our league, but not individual players.  It is also not allowed because a player playing in, for instance, an AA (or older) division, is considered to be more advanced.  Allowing them to also play in a single A (or younger) division is a contradiction to our pool player rules, which are necessary in our league.

What rules do you use?

We follow USSSA rules, with division specific caveats posted on our website.  The specific caveats are discussed at the mandatory coaches’ meetings.  We do not honor the report card rule because unlike USSSA, we have combined league ages, 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, etc... That's too big of a gap in ages.  For example:  If we allowed a league age 11yo 5th grader to play with their league age 10yo classmates, they'd also be playing with/against league age 9yo 4th grade players (some league age 8 turning 9 over the summer).  We do sympathize with the situation, but it's just not something that we can allow, due to safety concerns, because of our combined age groups.

What if my question is not listed?

Contact the VP of your age group.  VP Contact Information can be found by visiting the Contacts page.
